Teslić has a long tradition of producing final and intermediate products for the automotive industry, and the Nikola Tesla Vocational School, one of two secondary education institution, offers three-year programmes for auto-mechanics, welders and electricians.
Tešanj offers business excellence in terms of the workforce in this sector and a long tradition of delivering products to the most renowned international automotive industry producers. The German business group Mann+Hummel transferred part of its production to Tešanj for the period starting from 2013, and set an ambitious plan foreseeing a 30% growth in facilities for the production of filters and other automotive industry components.
The success of the investment by the German company Car Trim GmbH in the Žepče area is another indicator of the potentials in the auto parts and equipment sector. This company is one of the European leaders in the sector. The factory for the production of leather and textile interiors for Audi and VW passenger vehicles opened in Žepče by this company currently employs 140 workers. The utilisation of production capacities is currently at 70%, and the investment plan for the Žepče area ultimately foresees the employment of a total of 500 workers.
